Gold & Silver Update: Breakouts Inside Breakouts
Both Precious Metals Are Displaying "Fractal" Chart Patterns Following A Breakout
Hi everyone,
Just a quick update today, but an important one — because both gold and silver are showing the kind of multi-timeframe price action you typically only see during strong, sustained bull markets.
Below are two charts I’ve been studying closely. What stands out is that both metals have just broken out of large, multi-month consolidation patterns… and now they’re each forming smaller continuation structures directly on top of those breakouts.
This “fractal” structure — a breakout inside a breakout — isn’t magic. It reflects something very real happening under the surface:
Buyers are stepping in earlier and earlier
Pullbacks are getting shallower
Former resistance is turning into immediate support
There’s no meaningful selling pressure after major levels are taken out
In other words, it’s the signature of strong underlying momentum.
Silver is the clearest example: after breaking out of its massive ascending triangle to new all-time highs, it’s now forming a smaller ascending triangle right above the breakout line. Gold is doing the exact same thing — a tight coil forming directly on top of a months-long breakout structure.
When you see this kind of continuation pattern stacking across an entire sector, it usually means the trend is not just intact… it’s strengthening.
This doesn’t guarantee one-way price action, of course. Nothing does. But structurally, this is the type of behavior you want to see if you’re bullish the metals into 2026. It suggests the market hasn’t finished repricing yet — and dips may continue to be aggressively bought.
Charts are below. Worth a look.

Silver just broke out of a large ascending triangle to new record highs. Now it is forming another smaller ascending triangle, likely a portent of a resumed move higher.

Gold is displaying a similar fractal pattern on it’s chart, with a smaller symmetrical triangle forming following a breakout from a large one.
